Job Description

UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge is a distinguished Southern California meeting and retreat venue nestled high in the serene San Bernardino Mountains on the scenic shores of Lake Arrowhead. This 50-acre lodge, operated by UCLA, offers a unique blend of natural beauty and well-appointed meeting spaces and accommodations, catering primarily to groups from September through mid-June. During the summer months, the lodge transforms into a vibrant hub for family experiences through the Bruins Woods Family Camp program, hosting up to 80 families each week across ten consecutive weeks. This dynamic setting combines the rustic charm of mountain lodge living with the professional standards and organizational excellence associated with UCLA, providing an inspiring and comfortable environment for both work and leisure.

The role is for a Chef who will work under the direction of the Executive Chef, providing crucial leadership and oversight of all kitchen operations within this high-volume, multi-meal period environment. This position demands a high level of culinary expertise and strong operational skills to ensure consistent quality, food safety compliance, and efficiency in food production and service. The Chef will also play an important role in menu development, inventory management, and staff scheduling, balancing the demands of large-scale catering and guest satisfaction. This job requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and who embraces UCLA's commitment to excellence and community engagement. The role's salary range is competitive and reflective of the candidate's experience, skills, and education, with comprehensive benefits starting from day one.
