Job Description

Terralume Signature Memory Care is a new, boutique community designed exclusively for individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Located just off Wayzata Boulevard in Minnetonka, this specialized care community is set to open in June 2026 and offers a unique environment aimed at promoting dignity, comfort, and high-quality care for residents affected by memory-related conditions. As an innovative facility, Terralume Signature Memory Care focuses on creating a compassionate and supportive atmosphere where healthcare professionals and support staff work closely together to enhance the quality of life for each resident.

The community prides itself on its intimate size, allowing for personalized and attentive care tailored to the distinct needs of persons living with dementia. The aim is to help residents maintain independence and social engagement while receiving expert assistance in a safe and nurturing setting. Terralume Signature Memory Care seeks like-minded, compassionate, and adaptable professionals who are dedicated to shaping an exceptional and meaningful experience for both residents and their families.

The Cook/Chef role at Terralume Signature Memory Care is a vital position responsible for preparing and presenting meals that meet both regulatory standards and customer expectations. This part-time role entails working approximately 20 hours every two weeks with scheduling that includes every other weekend and holiday rotations, making it ideal for individuals seeking flexible work hours while contributing to an important mission. The Cook/Chef will adhere to standardized recipes to ensure consistent quality, nutritional value, and proper portioning of meal items, including the preparation of specialized texturized diets according to International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative (IDDSI) standards.

In addition to meal preparation, the Cook/Chef will assist with assembling meals, bakery items, and support special event catering within designated timeframes. A key responsibility of this role is maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment in compliance with health standards, involving the use of recommended equipment, chemicals, and thorough cleaning procedures. The Cook/Chef should also demonstrate leadership capabilities by supervising kitchen staff in the absence of the supervisor, managing daily operational tasks, ensuring excellent customer service, and effectively communicating feedback related to meal and service quality from residents and guests.

Overall, this position offers a meaningful opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking memory care community while developing specialized culinary skills in a healthcare setting. The successful candidate will contribute to a warm, well-organized kitchen environment that supports the health and well-being of vulnerable residents. Moreover, the role is supported by a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision plans, life insurance, disability coverage, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, retirement plans, and more, making it an attractive employment opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about making a difference in specialized care.
