Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable personal chef to provide exclusive culinary services for a three-night stay from June 28th to June 30th at an Airbnb located in Pickens, South Carolina. This unique opportunity is perfect for a chef who enjoys creating tailored dining experiences in intimate settings and can manage cooking without a traditional kitchen setup since the rental does not include a stove or full kitchen facilities. The chef will need to be resourceful, capable of preparing delicious meals that cater to specific dietary preferences and restrictions, all while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Our clients are a couple with distinct dietary preferences: one is pescatarian, meaning they consume fish and seafood but avoid other meats, while the partner eats meat and enjoys a variety of dishes. The role will require planning and delivering thoughtfully crafted meals that satisfy both dietary needs. The chef should be comfortable preparing pescatarian dishes incorporating fresh seafood as well as meat-based options, ensuring variety and balance over the course of the three nights. Expectation includes preparing dinner each night, potentially including some drinks and dessert on at least one of the evenings, turning mealtimes into a special, enjoyable occasion.
This is a temporary, short-term position with competitive compensation offered up to $330 per night total or $165 per person per night. The chef will have the opportunity to design the menu collaboratively or independently, depending on preference and consultation with the clients, embracing creativity suited to an upscale, personalized dining experience in a cozy, private setting. Hospitality, excellent communication, flexibility, and punctuality are crucial attributes, as the chef will be a significant part of the couple’s memorable getaway.
Ideal candidates will have experience cooking in unconventional settings, adapting to available equipment and making the most out of limited resources. Skills in meal planning, grocery shopping, and managing a small-scale kitchen setup will be essential. The role requires reliability, professionalism, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences with sensitivity to nutritional and lifestyle choices. This is an excellent opportunity for chefs who enjoy intimate, client-focused roles and wish to showcase their culinary artistry in a beautiful location without the typical constraints of a full commercial kitchen.
