SoCal Empowered is a dedicated mental health treatment facility located in Lake Forest, California. This establishment operates two residential houses designed to provide a supportive and therapeutic environment for up to 12 clients at a time. The facility is committed to offering comprehensive care and fostering an atmosphere that aids in the recovery and empowerment of individuals managing mental health challenges. We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate chef to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for culinary professionals who wish to apply their skills in a meaningful setting where nutritious meal preparation directly impacts the health and recovery of clients. The chef will play a critical role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by planning and preparing wholesome menus tailored to their dietary needs while maintaining kitchen hygiene and operational standards. The position is a full-time role, working weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm with weekends off, providing a healthy work-life balance. Compensation ranges from $24.00 to $26.00 per hour based on experience and suitability for the role.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience working in kitchen settings and must be adept at creating diverse, balanced meals using fresh ingredients. Responsibilities include menu planning that accommodates dietary restrictions and preferences, efficient grocery shopping within budget constraints, meal preparation, and kitchen cleanup. The environment is supportive with a focus on teamwork, and the chef will collaborate closely with facility staff to ensure meals meet the nutritional and therapeutic goals of the treatment program. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least five years cooking experience
  • knowledge of food safety regulations

  • must be based in or willing to commute to Lake Forest, California
