Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or certificate from an accredited culinary program
- one supplemental year of related work experience
- willingness to obtain Safety and Sanitation certification by ServSafe or a similar program
- willingness to obtain Certified Culinarian certification from the American Culinarian Federation
- ability to maintain records
- ability to lift and move inventory
- ability to stand and walk on hard flooring for long periods
- ability to tolerate a wide range of room temperatures
- ability to multi-task and manage several people

Job Duties
- Prepares and serves food
- supervises employees in performing these tasks in the Fresh Gatherings Café and at catered events
- works with cafeteria personnel scheduling and oversight of necessary task completion
- assumes responsibility for daily kitchen operations and cleanliness
- ensures all safety and sanitation policies and procedures are strictly adhered to at all times
- works with maintenance/department personnel to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly
- adheres to health standards to maintain positive city health department licensure
- composes daily menus and reports
- may update cashiering system
- reconciles/balances cash register on a daily basis with receipts
- deposits cash on a regular basis with department personnel
- through regular ordering works to contain food costs
- maintains on-hand food inventory and appropriate records
- controls inventory rotation in compliance with food standards and dates
- works with vendors to create orders and maintains inventory of supplies
- receives food deliveries and approves invoices for payment in collaboration with department personnel
- submits invoices for payment on a regular basis
- reviews cafeteria financial information on a regular basis for errors and ensuring positive cafeteria operations
- manages additional purchasing (credit card), maintains receipts and provides to department personnel immediately after purchase
- works with dietetic interns and precepts undergraduate students during their accreditation requirement of a clinical rotation in a cafeteria
- performs other duties as assigned
