Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in culinary arts, restaurant management, or related field
  • Four years of vocational education or experience in culinary arts, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience totaling eight years
  • ServSafe certification required or must be obtained within six months of hire
  • Proof of education, training, and/or experience
  • HACCP certification preferred

  • Proven experience in recipe development and food service program management
  • Strong knowledge of USDA meal program requirements
  • Experience in staff training and technical support
  • Ability to manage nutrition management software

Job Duties

  • Creates and facilitates recipes for school and special meal service programs
  • Develops and tests new recipes that meet federal, state, and local guidelines
  • Develops standardized recipes compliant with USDA requirements for various meal programs
  • Incorporates new food trends into menu selections
  • Creates and develops training videos and conducts on-site or virtual training
  • Develops and maintains commodity food and key performance indicators usage
  • Participates in nutrition education programs, health fairs, district initiatives, PTA meetings, and community events
  • Provides standard operating procedures for HACCP protocol
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
