Job Description

Walmart Supercenter #718, located at 2120 US Highway 92 W, Auburndale, FL, 33823, is a part of Walmart Inc., one of the world's largest retail corporations. Walmart Supercenters are well-known for providing a diverse range of products including groceries, apparel, electronics, household goods, and more, all under one roof. Walmart is committed to offering great value and a convenient shopping experience to millions of customers daily. With a focus on customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and community involvement, Walmart continues to be a leader in the retail industry by fostering a positive work culture and investing in its associates.

Currently, Walmart Supercenter #718 is seeking motivated individuals for the role of Front End Checkout Associate on a part-time basis. This position plays a vital part in creating a positive customer experience by efficiently operating registers and providing friendly service. The Front End Checkout Associate is responsible for greeting customers warmly, scanning and ringing up items swiftly and accurately, processing various forms of payment, and ensuring customer satisfaction before they leave the store. The role requires associates to maintain a cheerful attitude, assist customers with any questions or concerns, and work designated shifts during mid-shift and closing hours.

This part-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $14 to $27, depending on experience and location-specific minimum wage laws. Additional earnings can be gained through performance incentives, which are awarded annually or quarterly to recognize exceptional contributions. Moreover, premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3 per hour may be paid for working under special circumstances such as certain shifts, seasonal demands, or specific tasks. Multiple premiums can be awarded simultaneously if the qualifying criteria are met. Front End Checkout Associates should be prepared for physical activities involved in the role, including prolonged standing.

Beyond competitive hourly pay, Walmart provides comprehensive benefits that support the well-being and professional growth of associates. These benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage to maintain good health. Financial security is bolstered through 401(k) plans, company-paid life insurance, and stock purchase programs. Walmart also offers generous paid time off policies including parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty leave, and voting leave, ensuring associates have time to manage personal and family needs. Additional benefits such as short-term and long-term disability, company discounts, military leave pay, adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement further illustrate Walmart's commitment to its workforce.

Associates earn paid time off (PTO) or personal paid time off (PPTO), which can be utilized for vacations, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes. The amount awarded varies based on job classification and length of employment and always meets or exceeds local paid sick leave laws where applicable. Walmart’s Live Better U program provides tuition-free education opportunities, covering high school completion, bachelor's degrees, English language learning, and certificate programs, demonstrating an investment in associate career development.

Walmart maintains a strict drug-free workplace policy that prohibits the use of illegal drugs and alcohol on the job to ensure a safe and productive environment for all employees. This adherence to safety and responsibility is part of Walmart's commitment to its associates and customers alike. Overall, the Front End Checkout Associate role at Walmart Supercenter #718 offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to one of the top retail giants while enjoying competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and chances for personal and professional growth.
