Job Description
Walmart Supercenter #1195, located at 460 Highway 90, Waveland, MS, is part of the global retail giant Walmart, known for offering a wide range of products including groceries, apparel, electronics, and household goods. Walmart operates numerous supercenters across the United States providing customers with convenient shopping experiences coupled with competitive pricing and exceptional customer service. The Waveland location serves the local community by offering a comprehensive selection of products and services, maintained by a dedicated team of associates committed to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
The Front End Checkout Associate role at Walmart Supercenter #1195 is a part-time position with available mid-shift and closing shifts. Associates in this role are essential to the customer shopping experience, as they manage the checkout process. The hourly wage ranges from $14 to $27 per hour, with the actual rate matching or exceeding the required minimum wage for the location. Additional compensation may be provided through performance-based incentives paid annually or quarterly. Furthermore, associates may earn premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour depending on factors such as schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed, with the possibility of receiving multiple premiums if criteria are met.
These associates are tasked with efficiently running registers while providing friendly and courteous service. They greet and thank customers, ring up items accurately, process payments, and assist customers by answering their questions or addressing their needs. This role requires maintaining a positive attitude and being ready to help at all times, often involving standing for extended periods.
Working at Walmart offers comprehensive benefits designed to support the well-being of associates. Health benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage. Financial benefits encompass 401(k) plans, stock purchase options, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off includes parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting leave. Other perks include short-term and long-term disability coverage, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, and more.
Associates receive Paid Time Off (PTO) or Personal Paid Time Off (PPTO) that can be used for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes, with amounts dependent on job classification and length of employment. These exceed or meet paid sick leave laws where applicable. Walmart also offers the Live Better U education benefit program, which supports both full-time and part-time associates in completing education from high school diplomas to bachelor’s degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates, with tuition, books, and fees fully covered by the company.
Eligibility for benefits may vary based on job classification and length of employment and are subject to change. Walmart maintains a strict drug-free workplace policy to ensure a safe and productive environment for all employees. The company is committed to providing a supportive and rewarding work environment where associates can grow and succeed while delivering excellent service to customers.
