The company is known for its dedication to delivering exceptional service, driven by the human side of hospitality, fostering loyalty with purpose, and creating meaningful connections with guests. Sonesta prides itself on bringing quality, value, and memorable experiences to every stay, reflecting its core philosophy: 'Together We Thrive.' Sonesta's portfolio encompasses owned, managed, and franchised properties, making it a pervasive presence in the hospitality industry and a dynamic organization to be part of.
The Cook 2 role at Sonesta embodies this mission by ensuring food preparation is consistent with the company's high standards and that guests receive an exceptional culinary experience. This position is primarily responsible for preparing food orders with a focus on quality, safety, and sanitation while maintaining efficient kitchen operations. The role requires a passionate individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can execute recipes accurately, and ensures food quality and consistency. The Cook 2 must also adhere to safety and grooming standards and contribute positively to the work environment.
Working as a Cook 2 at Sonesta means collaborating in a team-oriented setting where attention to detail and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction are paramount. The role demands physical stamina, as it involves standing for entire shifts, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in varying temperatures, including exposure to freezers and loading dock conditions. Flexibility is essential since the position requires working various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, overnights, and holidays, with shifts sometimes lasting 10 to 12 hours.
Ideal candidates will bring relevant cooking experience—preferably three or more years in hotel or restaurant food preparation—and a high school diploma or GED is preferred. Candidates should possess excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to work independently while effectively communicating with team members and guests. Sonesta emphasizes a welcoming and respectful attitude, making it essential for the Cook 2 to be courteous, attentive, and dedicated to delivering an exceptional dining experience.
Sonesta offers a comprehensive benefits package demonstrating its commitment to employee well-being. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a health savings account with company match, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid vacation and sick days, educational assistance, paid parental leave, and various employee discounts, including hotel discounts. The company also provides life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, hospital indemnity, critical illness insurance, and accident insurance, ensuring broad protection for its workforce.
Joining Sonesta as a Cook 2 means becoming part of a globally recognized hospitality leader that values respect, diversity, and equal opportunity.
