Job Description
The Marshes of Skidaway Island is a distinguished senior living community deeply committed to providing an exceptional lifestyle and care experience for older adults. Located within a beautiful campus setting that fosters a strong sense of belonging, The Marshes prides itself on a culture that emphasizes hospitality, compassion, and personalized care. As a community rooted in relationship-driven values, it offers residents not only high-quality services but also an environment where they are truly known and embraced by the staff. The environment promotes warmth, respect, and meaningful interaction, making it an ideal place for seniors to thrive in comfort and security.
The Marshes of Skidaway Island is currently seeking a Certified Dietary & Kitchen Manager with a strong hospitality focus to join their dedicated team. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization's mission through excellence in dining services and resident engagement. The position is full-time with compensation ranging from $58,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience. The role comes with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, company-paid life insurance, scholarship opportunities, an annual bonus, 401k plan, and paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
In this role, you will lead the dining services team with a primary focus on hospitality, respect, and personalized service tailored to each resident’s needs. Building and nurturing positive, lasting relationships with residents is integral to the role—you will spend time obtaining dietary histories and understanding food preferences through interviews and personal visits, thereby enhancing each resident’s dining experience. You will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, which include staffing, scheduling, food production, inventory management, and ordering. Meeting and maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards is a top priority.
Collaboration plays a significant part of the responsibilities as you will work closely with nursing, wellness, and culinary teams to align on residents' nutritional goals. Your participation in key committees such as the Nutrition at Risk Committee and the Skin/Wound Care Committee ensures that dining services effectively contribute to residents' overall health and wellness. Attending Resident Care Plan Conferences and contributing to care planning further underscores the important interdepartmental connections required.
Furthermore, you will have a role in staff development by planning and conducting in-service training programs designed to elevate the level of service and care provided through the dining experience. Providing nutritional counseling to residents and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen environment that embodies the community’s commitment to care and excellence rounds out this critical leadership role. Overall, this position offers a unique opportunity for someone passionate about hospitality and senior care to make a tangible impact every day within a welcoming and supportive community environment.
