Job Description

The Marshes of Skidaway Island is a distinguished senior living community located on a beautiful campus that emphasizes hospitality, compassion, and personalized care for older adults. Known for fostering a warm, relationship-centered culture, The Marshes is committed to creating an environment where both residents and staff experience a true sense of belonging and community. Their mission focuses on delivering exceptional care through meaningful interactions, high-quality dining services, and a home-like atmosphere that supports the well-being and dignity of each resident. This commitment is reflected in their team-oriented approach, where every member contributes to the overall experience of comfort, safety, and engagement for residents.

The Marshes of Skidaway Island is currently seeking a Certified Dietary/Kitchen Manager to join their accomplished dining services team. This role is designed for a hospitality-focused professional passionate about enhancing the dining experience for seniors in a health care setting. The position is highly relational, requiring the ability to connect meaningfully with residents and a deep understanding of their dietary needs and preferences. By conducting interviews and personal visits, the manager learns each resident's unique dietary history and tastes to customize meal plans that nurture physical health and personal satisfaction.

The Certified Dietary/Kitchen Manager leads the dining services team by fostering a work environment based on hospitality, respect, and personalized service. This leadership role involves oversight of several critical kitchen operations, including staffing, scheduling, food production, inventory management, and procurement. Ensuring that all meals meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance is a key responsibility, as is maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams such as nursing, wellness, and culinary staff to align nutritional goals with each resident’s health plan.

Active participation in committees like Nutrition at Risk and Skin/Wound Care ensures the integration of nutrition with broader resident care strategies. The Certified Dietary/Kitchen Manager also plays a vital role in resident care plan conferences and in-service training programs for dining staff, ensuring continuous quality improvement and professional development within the department. This position demands a warm, people-centered leadership style, excellent communication abilities, and teamwork skills, all vital for enriching the lives of older adults through daily connection and service.

In return for your dedication and expertise, The Marshes offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, company-paid life insurance, scholarships, annual bonus opportunities, a 401k plan, and paid vacation, sick, and holiday time. Joining The Marshes means working in an environment where your contributions have a meaningful impact every day and where your passion for senior care and hospitality is valued and cultivated.
