This position, Center Account Manager (CAM), is a strategic role covering a territory that includes primarily Northern California and Oregon, as well as some cystic fibrosis (CF) centers and hospitals located in Reno, Nevada, and Alaska. The CAM will be responsible for achieving and maximizing territory sales goals through developing and executing a strategic business plan. This position requires deep knowledge of the disease state and products related to cystic fibrosis, effective communication of this information to healthcare professionals (HCPs), and the use of consultative selling approaches tailored to the needs of rare and complex disease markets.
The CAM must operate with excellent judgment and a patient-centered mindset to improve outcomes for individuals living with cystic fibrosis. This role works cross-functionally within the sales and marketing teams and collaborates compliantly with other organizational departments including Managed Markets, Specialty Pharmacy, Patient Services, Medical, Human Resources, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance teams. The ideal candidate demonstrates a passion for improving patient care delivery, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in an innovative, performance-driven environment.
The compensation for this role ranges from $136,000 to $204,000 annually, complemented by eligibility for annual bonuses and equity awards. Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- ability to travel up to 50 percent including evenings and weekends as needed

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- typically requires 5 years of field sales experience in pharmaceutical industry
- experience in cystic fibrosis, rare disease, or other biotech or specialty markets

Job Duties
- Promotes safe and effective use of Vertex products in accordance with product label and company policies
- provides relevant disease state and on-label product information
- interacts with cystic fibrosis stakeholders in assigned geography
- responsible for individual performance at the territory level and contributing to area and national team performance
- demonstrates passion for improving cystic fibrosis patient care delivery and strong customer orientation and insight
- ensures appropriate and targeted resource allocation to meet customer needs with focus on compliance
- stays current on cystic fibrosis environment including disease, key accounts, reimbursement, and barriers to optimal care
- responsible for managing tactical business plan including promotional activities for customers, budget, and travel expenses
- works collaboratively across functional areas to achieve common goals and address challenges
- attends and participates in meetings, and undertakes projects and other duties as requested by management
- exercises sound judgment and adheres to regulatory and compliance guidelines and company policies
