Job Description

US Foods is one of the largest foodservice distributors in the United States, renowned for its dedication to providing high-quality food products and exceptional service to a wide range of customers, including restaurants, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions. Established with a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, US Foods has built a reputation for excellence in the foodservice industry through its commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a positive workplace culture. The company places a strong emphasis on promoting from within and supports its workforce with excellent training programs and leadership development opportunities, making it an ideal place for career growth and long-term success.

As a US Foods Delivery Driver, you will be an integral part of this dynamic organization, contributing directly to the reliable distribution of food products that help customers succeed in their businesses. This role offers a competitive starting wage of $29 per hour with weekly pay and the potential to earn over $100,000 annually for top performers. The standard work schedule is a five-day week within Monday through Saturday, typically starting between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., averaging more than 45 hours per week, with the benefit of being home every day.

The Delivery Driver position is essential to maintaining the company's high standards of service and safety. Drivers are responsible for operating trucks safely while adhering to scheduled delivery times, ensuring timely distribution of products to various customers. Duties include unloading items carefully using tools such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, verifying delivery accuracy with customers, obtaining signatures, handling collections when necessary, and maintaining strong professional relationships to enhance the customer experience. Additionally, drivers must conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of their equipment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.

Physical demands for this role are significant; drivers are required to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull heavy products weighing between 20 to over 80 pounds. Working conditions often require driving and performing duties in inclement weather with numerous stops per shift. Drivers must be comfortable and prepared to navigate these challenges while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and safety.

US Foods emphasizes safety culture and provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K investment options, life insurance, and more. As a driver, you will join a supportive team led by experienced local management, and your efforts will be recognized and rewarded through the company’s Total Rewards program. This program reflects US Foods' commitment to respecting and rewarding their associates' dedication and hard work.

To qualify for the role, applicants must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid CDL Class A license with the necessary endorsements, and meet the Department of Transportation's requirements including registration to the FMCSA Clearinghouse. A minimum of six months of commercial driving experience or three months in food and beverage delivery is required. Preference is given to those who can operate manual transmissions, although it may be location-dependent. Communication skills in English are essential to comprehend traffic signs, engage with customers, and complete required documentation.

Joining US Foods means becoming part of a company where the mission extends beyond business objectives to include helping drivers 'make it' both professionally and personally. It is an opportunity to work for an industry leader with a strong safety record and culture of continuous improvement while cultivating rewarding relationships with customers and the community. If you are a responsible, motivated driver seeking rewarding work with a leading foodservice provider, US Foods offers an excellent career path marked by competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive environment where your contributions truly matter.
