Founded on the principles of integrity, trust, and community engagement, the company continuously strives to be an employer of choice through comprehensive benefits, inclusive hiring practices, and a dedication to safety and innovation.
The CDL Driver with Hazmat (Local Deliveries) position at SRS Distribution plays a critical role in the supply chain by safely transporting hazardous materials and other construction products to customer locations or job sites within the local area. This full-time position demands a highly responsible, safety-conscious individual who can navigate complex delivery routes while complying with strict Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Drivers do more than deliver; they represent the company’s commitment to exceptional service and professionalism.
The role involves a combination of driving, physical handling of freight, inspection of vehicles, and interaction with customers and job site personnel. Drivers must ensure that all deliveries are performed without damage or delay, maintaining meticulous records for reports, inspections, and compliance audits. The position offers competitive weekly or bi-weekly pay, along with discretionary bonuses, making it a financially rewarding opportunity for qualified candidates. Comprehensive benefits include 401(k) retirement plans with company match, employee stock purchase programs, paid time off packages, and medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage among others, reflecting SRS Distribution's commitment to employee well-being.
This position requires physical stamina for lifting up to 100 pounds regularly, the ability to withstand varying weather conditions, and consistent adherence to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Drivers must possess valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s Licenses with Hazmat endorsements, current DOT medical certification, and maintain an exemplary driving record. While no previous commercial driving experience is mandatory, it is preferred, alongside a solid understanding of FMCSA and OSHA regulations. The opportunity is well-suited for individuals seeking a stable career in logistics and transportation, within an established and growing organization that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
SRS Distribution is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer dedicated to providing equal jobs regardless of race, color, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics. The inclusive company culture supports individuals with disabilities and veterans, offering reasonable accommodations to ensure fair hiring processes. Candidates will undergo background checks and drug screening as part of the hiring process, consistent with legal requirements and company policies.
In summary, this CDL Driver with Hazmat position is a vital component of SRS Distribution’s operations, ensuring that essential building materials are delivered safely, efficiently, and professionally to meet customer needs and project timelines.
