With a rich history and strong market presence, US Foods is a leader in delivering quality products to a diverse range of customers, including restaurants, healthcare facilities, and hospitality providers. This commitment to quality and service underscores its reputation as a reliable partner in the food distribution sector.

The role of a Class A Driver at US Foods is vital to the company’s success and operational excellence. These drivers are entrusted with delivering a wide array of food products such as meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, and various supplies to customers’ designated locations. The position requires a high degree of flexibility and willingness to commute or travel to multiple assigned yard locations in Oregon to start routes. Drivers will have early morning start times that vary by route assignment, generally falling between 1am and 6am, and the workweek can extend from Monday to Saturday with an average of 4 to 5 days worked weekly. This position offers a competitive base hourly wage ranging from $31.44 to $34.93, dependent on experience, education, and geographic location, with eligibility for overtime compensation.

US Foods emphasizes the importance of its drivers delivering best-in-class customer service through timely and accurate deliveries while managing physical demands such as heavy lifting and operating hand trucks. Drivers will frequently make multiple stops and must adeptly handle deliveries in varying weather conditions. The company’s supportive work culture includes paid training, paid overtime, and employee recognition programs, ensuring drivers feel valued and motivated. In addition to competitive compensation, the role provides an excellent benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability coverage, employee stock purchase plans, mileage reimbursement, hotel accommodations for route assignments that require overnight stays, and meal allowances.

US Foods holds a firm commitment to safety and compliance, requiring all drivers to maintain a valid Class A CDL with necessary endorsements, comply with Department of Transportation guidelines, and be at least 21 years old. Drivers must have a clean driving record, pass required physical examinations, and maintain registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, which tracks drug and alcohol program violations for commercial drivers. This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated, dependable, and eager to contribute to a growing and respected company in the food distribution industry. Joining US Foods as a Class A Driver means becoming part of a team where hard work, integrity, and customer service are recognized and rewarded, offering an excellent pathway for career growth and stability.
