US Foods is one of the largest foodservice distributors in the United States, renowned for its commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. As a leading company in the food distribution industry, US Foods provides a vast range of products and services to restaurants, healthcare, hospitality, and other foodservice customers nationwide. The company prides itself on a culture of promoting from within, offering excellent training programs, continuous improvement initiatives, and leadership development opportunities. With a focus on building strong relationships both internally and externally, US Foods is dedicated to supporting its associates at every level and fostering a collaborative working environment that encourages growth and success.

The role of a US Foods Driver is pivotal to the company’s operations, as drivers act as the primary interface between the company and its customers. In this role, drivers are responsible for safely operating trucks to deliver food products to customers while ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. The position demands a high level of professionalism when interacting with customers, as drivers represent the company’s commitment to reliability and service excellence. Beyond driving, the role includes physically unloading products using appropriate equipment and ensuring all products are placed in correct storage areas. Drivers must also verify the accuracy of deliveries and collect required signatures or payments when applicable, which further adds to the responsibility of maintaining an exceptional customer experience.

Safety is a fundamental aspect of the position, requiring the completion of thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment to guarantee vehicles and cargo are secure and roadworthy. Comfort working in various weather conditions and the ability to perform frequent stops are essential, as is the capability to handle physically demanding tasks that involve lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy items ranging from 20 to 80 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. The position also requires compliance with regulatory standards, including registration to the FMCSA Clearinghouse and possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with necessary endorsements.

The compensation for this role includes a competitive base salary with incentive opportunities, overtime pay, and additional component pay based on factors such as mileage and stops. US Foods offers a strong benefits package that includes health insurance, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plans, life insurance, paid time off, and more. The company also emphasizes a strong safety culture backed by excellent local leadership, making it an ideal employer for individuals seeking a stable and rewarding career as a professional driver in the foodservice logistics sector. Drivers are valued members who contribute significantly to US Foods’ mission to help their customers make it by ensuring timely delivery of essential food products.
