This position requires driving tractor-trailer or straight trucks on intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive and drop routes. Schedule flexibility is needed, with an average shift length of 10-12 hours, working 4-5 days per week based on business needs, with no Sundays. Dispatch times are typically between midnight and 5 AM based on assigned routes.\n\nDrivers represent the face of Performance Foodservice to customers, fostering lasting relationships built on professionalism and reliability. They are responsible for performing all required safety checks, including DOT pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting safety hazards and required repairs, and ensuring compliance with all Department of Transportation regulations and company policies on safe driving.\n\nAdditionally, drivers handle various operational responsibilities such as verifying and completing paperwork related to freight, managing product loading and unloading, securing freight and trailers, collecting payments where necessary, and maintaining cleanliness and safety of equipment and work areas.
