Job Description
The role of a US Foods CDL-A Driver is a critical position responsible for safely delivering food products to customers while offering exceptional customer service. This full-time role operates on a Monday through Saturday schedule with two days off, requiring work on Saturdays and dispatch times between 12:00 AM and 5:00 AM. Drivers at US Foods can earn up to $130,000 in their first year and may be eligible for a $15,000 retention bonus. Benefits begin on the first day of employment and include medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance, and more. The driver is tasked with delivering products safely, unloading items carefully using equipment such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, verifying delivery accuracy, and handling customer interactions professionally. Additionally, the position requires performing pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and the physical ability to lift and handle 20 to 80+ pounds repetitively during shifts, often in inclement weather conditions. A valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications is required, along with adherence to FMCSA Clearinghouse registration. The role emphasizes safety, customer satisfaction, and reliability, key pillars that reflect US Foods’ corporate culture and dedication to service excellence. Compensation varies based on experience, skills, and location, with a base rate typically between $34 and $39 per hour plus applicable overtime and shift differentials.
