Sysco is currently seeking dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to join its team. In this role, the driver will safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer to manually unload and deliver a wide range of products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. The ideal candidate is not only skilled in vehicle operation but also builds strong relationships with customers by demonstrating a positive and friendly attitude. Becoming familiar with customer operations is essential to effectively meet their needs and expectations.

This position requires physical stamina as delivery drivers may need to lift, push, or move products weighing from 40 to 60 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds repeatedly. Flexibility is also important since the role may require overtime, weekend, and holiday work depending on business needs. Successful candidates will hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record, have the ability to read and speak English sufficiently for communication and safety purposes, and pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening.

Job Requirements

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record
  • Able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public and understand traffic signs
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, or moving product weighing 40-60 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Available for overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English for communication and safety
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Ability to lift and handle freight weighing up to 100 pounds
  • 1 year customer delivery experience preferred
  • 6 months hand cart/hand truck experience preferred
  • 6 months food and beverage experience preferred
  • 2 years consistent work history preferred

Job Duties

  • Safely operate a tractor-trailer to deliver products on assigned routes
  • Manually unload and deliver various products including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies
  • Build positive relationships with customers by providing friendly and professional service
  • Understand customer operations to meet their specific needs and expectations
  • Read and respond to official inquiries and maintain accurate delivery records
  • Lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds when required
  • Work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
