Job Description
BlueLinx Corporation, traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BXC, is a premier wholesale distributor specializing in building and industrial products across the United States. With a vast inventory boasting over 70,000 branded and private-label stock keeping units (SKUs), BlueLinx has established a robust distribution network that spans all 50 states. The company’s workforce exceeds 2,400 associates, whose collaboration and commitment are foundational to BlueLinx’s market leadership and operational excellence. Central to the company's ethos are values such as teamwork, integrity, continuous improvement, safety, and exemplary customer service, all of which foster a dynamic and supportive working environment.
BlueLinx is currently seeking dedicated Class A CDL drivers to join their team. This is a full-time driving position ideal for individuals looking to advance their careers with a company that prioritizes the safety and well-being of its drivers while delivering exceptional service to customers. The position offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $26.44, with structured wage increases at six months, one year, and eighteen months, reflecting BlueLinx’s commitment to employee growth and satisfaction. The role includes first shift hours, allowing drivers predictable work schedules and quality time at home, as drivers return each night and weekend to their families.
The driving position involves operating flatbed and curtain side trailers without the need for tarping, ensuring a safer and more efficient workflow. BlueLinx provides new, safe, and reliable equipment to support drivers in their duties. Moreover, drivers become part of a close-knit community focused on mutual support and success. The company offers an impressive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage, life insurance, 401K retirement plans, paid time off, holiday pay, and tuition reimbursement. These benefits enhance the overall compensation package and help drivers maintain work-life balance and professional development.
The Class A CDL driver’s key responsibilities include securing loads using only strapping methods — tarping is not required — ensuring timely and accurate delivery of freight, managing proof of delivery paperwork, and handling product returns when necessary. Drivers must maintain daily safety checks, perform required Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections, and keep accurate records such as electronic logbooks and trip reports. Interaction with customers is an essential part of the role, requiring professionalism and effective communication, especially when assisting customers during unloading.
Joining BlueLinx means being part of a company that values people, the future, and teamwork. Employees are expected to embody the company’s core values: customer centricity, respect, collaboration, integrity, and grit. BlueLinx’s dedication to a safe, inclusive, and forward-thinking culture makes it an employer of choice for experienced drivers who seek to work in an environment where their contributions are recognized and rewarded.
