Job Description

Bulkmatic is a leading company in the dry bulk shipping industry, specializing in the transportation of bulk commodities such as cement, fly ash, lime, and other dry bulk materials. Established with a commitment to operational excellence, safety, and customer service, Bulkmatic has grown to become a trusted name in the logistics and transportation sector. The company operates a modern fleet of vehicles equipped with advanced pneumatic systems that allow efficient loading and unloading of bulk materials. Bulkmatic's dedication to innovation and safety standards places it at the forefront of the industry, offering reliable delivery services across regional and local routes. They are known for fostering a supportive work environment that values the contributions of each employee and encourages professional growth. Employment with Bulkmatic means being part of a team that prioritizes safety, customer relationships, and empowerment in decision-making.

The role of a driver at Bulkmatic is unique and goes beyond traditional truck driving. Drivers operate pneumatic equipment integral to the loading and unloading processes, manage important customer interactions, and are entrusted with making informed decisions regarding their deliveries. This is a physical role requiring drivers to spend about two-thirds of their time driving, while the rest involves loading, unloading, and customer engagement. No prior pneumatic equipment experience is necessary, as extensive safety and equipment training is provided. Drivers at this location average between $95,000 and $115,000 annually, with an average current salary around $105,000 and weekly pay. New hires in Toledo are eligible for a $5,000 bonus, along with potential additional earnings through a Weekly Safety Pay Incentive.

Home time is balanced with a combination of local and regional duties, averaging 2 to 3 nights out per month. Depending on freight demands, some weeks may allow drivers to be home every night, while others might require overnight stays supported by provided hotel accommodations and meal allowances. Drivers must meet strict requirements, including holding a valid Class A CDL, having recent tractor-trailer experience, and compliance with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations. Bulkmatic maintains high safety standards, with rigorous checks on moving violations, accidents, and substance-related offenses.

The position demands specific physical capabilities such as lifting hoses up to 50 pounds, climbing on and off equipment, pushing, pulling, bending, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees, including paid vacation and holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, a 401k plan with employer match, and paid training and orientation. Bulkmatic emphasizes safety, providing necessary safety equipment and fostering a culture where drivers are valued as critical team members contributing to the company's overall success.
