The company prides itself on empowering its associates to drive progress, spark innovation, and shape the future of car buying and selling while supporting the communities where it operates.

The position of Fleet Driver at CarMax offers much more than just driving vehicles from one point to another. This role is essential in maintaining the smooth operation of CarMax’s logistics network, ensuring timely and secure transport of vehicles between stores, auctions, vendors, and logistics hubs. Fleet Drivers act as the backbone of inventory flow management, directly impacting customer satisfaction by making sure vehicles are delivered on time and in top condition. The company places a high priority on safety, reliability, and integrity, values that every Fleet Driver is expected to uphold.

This is a full-time role based in Murrieta, California, offering competitive hourly pay ranging from $28.60 to $48.70, with routes designed to allow drivers to return home daily. CarMax provides a consistent and structured schedule, supporting work-life balance alongside professional growth. Fleet Drivers are not only responsible for operating vehicles safely but also for conducting detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and CarMax safety standards. They maintain accurate logs and documentation, and take pride in representing the company professionally when interacting with vendors, colleagues, and the public.

CarMax encourages candidates who value a team-oriented environment and who are committed to doing the right thing every time to consider this opportunity. The role includes operating 10-speed transmission vehicles, loading and unloading vehicles using winches and other equipment, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions with a focus on safety and efficiency. CarMax also emphasizes the importance of a clean driving record and adherence to federal safety regulations.

CarMax supports its associates with a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid sick time, vacation, scheduled holidays plus a floating holiday, and holiday premium pay when working on holidays. The company fosters a supportive work environment that values diversity and equal opportunity, ensuring that all qualified candidates receive fair consideration for employment regardless of their background. Join CarMax as a Fleet Driver and play a vital role in an industry-leading company dedicated to transforming the used car market.
