These professionals drive tractor trailers or straight trucks, consistently ensuring that goods arrive according to schedule and in excellent condition. More than mere transportation, drivers are the public face of Performance Foodservice, tasked with building positive customer relationships through professional communication and dependable service.

The position requires a thorough understanding and adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, comprehensive safety inspections, and operational standards. Drivers conduct critical pre-trip and post-trip inspections to confirm vehicle and trailer safety, report any defects promptly, and follow all company safety guidelines meticulously. Their duties extend beyond driving to include loading and unloading products, verifying shipments with customers, completing required documentation accurately, and managing customer returns as necessary. Drivers also maintain logs of hours of service in compliance with federal and state regulations, ensuring legal and safe operations on every route.

This role is integral to the smooth function of America’s food distribution system and offers opportunities for career advancement within a well-established company focused on supporting both its employees and customers. Drivers have access to a professional culture that encourages teamwork, safety, and mutual respect, creating a workplace environment where employees feel valued and empowered.
