Job Description

McLane is a leading supply chain services company in the United States, with a rich history dating back over 130 years. Specializing in distribution and logistics, McLane has built a vast nationwide network that supports restaurant, retail, and e-commerce industries. The company prides itself on reliability, safety, and a people-centered culture, embracing new technologies and continued team member training to meet the evolving needs of its clients and maintain its position as an industry leader. Employing a workforce dedicated to moving America forward, McLane fosters an environment where career growth is supported through strong, secure client relationships and competitive benefits, making it a preferred employer for professional drivers.

The CDL-A Delivery Driver role at McLane represents a critical position within the company’s operational framework. This is a full-time, third-shift overnight position designed for professional drivers holding a valid Class A commercial driver's license. The role offers industry-leading pay ranging from $80,000 to $125,000 annually for qualified candidates, with a competitive pay rate during training ranging between $55,000 and $70,000. Qualified candidates can also earn a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 depending on experience. Beyond the financial rewards, McLane provides day one benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with company-paid life insurance to support employees’ well-being. Additional perks include paid holidays, vacation time, sick leave accrual, 401(k) profit-sharing plan eligibility after 90 days, pet insurance, maternity and paternity leave, employee assistance programs, tuition reimbursement, and various discount programs.

As a CDL-A Delivery Driver, your primary responsibilities will involve inspecting tractor-trailers for defects pre- and post-trip, conducting thorough DOT inspection reports, and verifying delivery documentation to ensure accuracy. You will drive tractor-trailers responsibly, using your expertise in commercial driving regulations and vehicle maneuvering to deliver products safely to customer locations. Maintaining driver logs according to DOT standards, documenting delivery receipts, product temperatures, and any delivery exceptions are key components of the role. In addition to unloading trailers and delivering products into customer premises, drivers will occasionally be assigned other related duties to support operational efficiency. This role is well-suited for drivers who prioritize safety, reliability, and adaptability, offering a stable career with opportunities for long-term growth within McLane’s expanding logistics network.

Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Class A commercial driver’s license with a minimum of one year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience. Applicants are expected to meet McLane’s Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and risk rating qualifications to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Furthermore, the ability to read, write, and understand English at a sufficient level to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely is crucial. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and essential communications required for the role. McLane is committed to an inclusive hiring process, offering equal employment opportunities regardless of age, race, sex, gender identity, disability, or veteran status. Background checks and drug screens are conducted as per applicable laws. This position offers an excellent chance for CDL-A drivers seeking a reputable company with a people-focused culture, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits to further their careers in the trucking industry.
