With over 71,000 colleagues and a fleet consisting of more than 13,000 vehicles, Sysco operates approximately 333 distribution facilities worldwide, serving over 700,000 customer locations. Sygma Dallas/Ft Worth upholds Sysco's mission to provide excellent service and reliable product delivery to its customers, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The company prides itself on its robust infrastructure, dedicated team, and a strong commitment to employee growth and development, reflecting its reputation as a stable and rewarding workplace. Sysco values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer, prioritizing fairness and opportunity irrespective of race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, or other protected factors under federal, state, or local laws.

The role of Delivery Driver within the Sygma Dallas/Ft Worth team is a critical position focused on ensuring that customers receive their orders safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range approximately between $90,000 and $125,000 per year, reflecting the pay scale for experienced drivers managing multiple routes weekly. Delivery Drivers operate primarily within the Dallas/Ft Worth area without travel requirements beyond this territory, allowing them to maintain a stable work schedule.

Delivery Drivers at Sygma are responsible for transporting products from the warehouse directly to customer locations using tractor trailers. The role includes unloading products either by hand or with hand carts, ensuring adherence to food safety protocols as well as company standards concerning product handling and storage to prevent cross-contamination and maintain sanitation. Drivers handle essential duties such as loading and picking up damaged goods, customer returns, backhauls, and line hauls, ensuring that all paperwork and compliance documentation—such as DOT logs, vehicle inspections, and invoices—are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner.

The company offers paid training to equip drivers with the necessary skills to succeed and emphasizes growth opportunities and internal talent development. Equipment used in the job includes well-maintained, all-automatic vehicles, hand carts, load bars, and safety gear, facilitating drivers in performing their deliveries efficiently and safely. The work schedule for drivers includes evening dispatch times from Sunday through Friday, with most routes structured not to exceed 60 hours per week.

This position demands physical stamina and alertness, with drivers regularly lifting and moving product weighing up to 50 pounds, operating in varying weather conditions, climbing in and out of tractor trailers, and performing tasks that require bending, twisting, and visual acuity. The work environment may expose employees to weather extremes, noisy settings, and occasionally hazardous or confined spaces. Drivers must adhere strictly to DOT regulations and maintain safe driving and delivery practices at all times.

Candidates for this role must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and be insurable to operate company vehicles. Experience with tractor-trailer driving or completion of a recognized driving school is preferred. Additionally, proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing English sufficiently to communicate effectively and comply with safety regulations is necessary.

In summary, the Delivery Driver position at Sygma Dallas/Ft Worth offers a stable and well-compensated career opportunity within a respected company dedicated to service excellence, employee growth, and operational safety. The role allows individuals to contribute meaningfully to the foodservice distribution industry while working in a supportive, structured environment with comprehensive benefits and career advancement possibilities.
