This impressive infrastructure supports Sysco's mission to provide exceptional service and unmatched product availability to its customers. The Dallas/Ft Worth branch of Sygma is known for fostering a supportive work environment and promoting internal career growth, making it a sought-after employer in the transportation and logistics sector.
The position offered is a Delivery Driver role situated in the Dallas/Ft Worth area with the zip code 76115, reflecting a full-time employment opportunity with zero travel percentage outside the assigned routes. This role promises competitive compensation, with drivers typically earning between $90,000 and $125,000 annually. The company offers well-maintained, all-automatic equipment and provides paid training to ensure all drivers are prepared for success in their roles. Drivers typically run 3-4 routes per week, balancing work hours to not exceed 60 hours per week on most routes. The schedule is Sunday through Friday with evening dispatch times, maintaining a consistent weekly routine for employees.
The Delivery Driver's core responsibilities include the safe and efficient transportation of products from the Sygma warehouse to various customer locations. This encompasses loading and unloading goods by hand or using hand carts, navigating through ramps, docks, and stairs under different weather conditions, and ensuring delivery accuracy aligned with customer invoices and company quality standards. Drivers are also responsible for picking up damaged goods and customer returns and transporting them back to the warehouse. A strong emphasis is placed on adhering to all food safety protocols during transport and delivery, ensuring product quality and reliability.
This role demands a high level of attention to safety regulations, including DOT electronic logs compliance, vehicle maintenance, and accurate paperwork submission. Physical demands for the job include lifting or moving products weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 350 pounds with equipment such as hand carts. Drivers are expected to maintain sanitary conditions in their vehicles and assist with warehouse upkeep as needed. Communication skills are vital for establishing good relationships with customers and coordinating with the management team on any deviations or issues encountered during deliveries.
Candidates must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and be insurable to operate a vehicle. Experience driving tractor trailers is preferred, as is the ability to read, write, and communicate in English. The role requires the ability to work outside regular hours if necessary to meet customer demands, demonstrating a commitment to punctuality and reliability. Overall, this role offers a stable career opportunity within a dynamic, expanding company dedicated to its employees' success and well-being.
