Job Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum six months commercial driving experience
- Must be 21 years or older
- Clean motor vehicle report for past three years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Able to hand-lift up to 90 pounds and use equipment
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements
- Pass road test
- Attain or possess current DOT health card
- Ability to cross state lines without K restriction
- Must be able to perform ramp work and handle touch freight
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Six months commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be 21 years or older
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past three years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or have a valid current DOT health card or be able to secure one
- Able to hand-lift and use equipment such as two-wheeler and lift gate to move product cases ranging from 10 to 90 pounds
Job Duties
- Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner
- Functions as a team member within the department and organization, performing any assigned duties to best serve the company
- Performs all required safety checks including pre/post-trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- Reports all safety issues and necessary repairs
- Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines
- Immediately reports all safety hazards
- Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of loaded products
- Completes all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
- Moves tractor to loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed
- Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route schedule
- Unloads products from trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
- Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about order removals per company policy
- Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
- Collects money where required
- Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
- Ensures tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and completes necessary paperwork
- Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock, and trailers
- Completes daily record of hours of service and enters logs per federal, state, and company requirements
- Secures all equipment and completes paperwork at end of shift
- Performs other related duties as assigned
