US Foods is one of America’s leading foodservice distributors, providing innovative food solutions and comprehensive services to restaurants, healthcare facilities, and hospitality providers across the nation. With a strong commitment to quality, reliability, and customer service, US Foods supports its customers by delivering high-quality products and offering innovative technology to help them succeed in a competitive marketplace. The company prides itself on fostering a culture that values integrity, collaboration, and professional growth, making it a sought-after workplace for those in the foodservice and logistics industries.
The position of Delivery Driver at US Foods in Lexington, KY is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals seeking a stable and rewarding career in the food distribution sector. As a Delivery Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food products to a variety of customers, helping them maintain smooth operations. This role offers competitive pay starting at $36.64 per hour with an increase to $39.00 per hour after one year, along with additional annual wage increases. Working a 4-day work week with Monday through Friday schedules allows for a balanced work-life approach while earning an average annual income of approximately $100,000.
Benefits available from day one include low-cost medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, as well as participation in a 401(k) retirement plan featuring an enhanced automatic company contribution and a 100% match up to a 6% contribution — a combined potential of up to 8% company funding. The company also offers life insurance and an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), supporting employees beyond just their daily work. The role comes with a strong emphasis on safety culture and excellent local leadership, providing drivers with the resources and support they need to excel.
As a US Foods Delivery Driver, your daily duties will involve safely operating trucks to deliver products on schedule, unloading merchandise using tools such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, and ensuring deliveries are accurate through proper verification and customer signatures. You will also be responsible for handling collections and payments when necessary, as well as representing US Foods in a professional manner to provide top-tier customer service. In addition to delivery responsibilities, drivers perform essential pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety and compliance standards.
The position requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift or maneuver heavy products up to 80 pounds repeatedly, and comfort with working in various weather conditions while making multiple stops daily. US Foods requires drivers to register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a federal database for commercial driver’s license eligibility related to drug and alcohol program violations. Candidates must hold a valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements, be at least 21 years old, possess relevant commercial driving experience, and have proficiency in English to communicate effectively and follow road regulations.
Overall, the US Foods Delivery Driver role in Lexington offers a blend of competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive work environment within a company recognized as a leader in the foodservice logistics sector. This is an ideal career path for individuals who value safety, reliability, and customer service excellence, and who are eager to contribute to the ongoing success of a respected national organization.
