Job Description

US Foods is one of America’s leading foodservice distributors, dedicated to providing quality products and services that support the culinary industry. As a major player in the food distribution sector, US Foods delivers a broad range of food products, kitchen equipment, and supplies to restaurants, healthcare facilities, hotels, and other foodservice establishments. The company emphasizes innovation and efficiency, striving to enhance customer satisfaction through reliable and timely deliveries. With a strong focus on employee well-being and career development, US Foods offers numerous opportunities for growth and advancement within the dynamic foodservice industry.

This particular opportunity is for CDL A Delivery Drivers who play a vital role in the company by ensuring products are delivered safely and efficiently to customers. As a CDL A Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for navigating routes and managing deliveries, contributing to the company’s commitment to customer service excellence. This role offers a competitive starting pay beginning at $35.50 per hour with the potential to earn over $100,000 annually for top-performing drivers. In addition to the attractive compensation, drivers enjoy a weekly pay schedule, retaining a regular Monday through Friday workweek with occasional Saturday rotations. Drivers are dispatched early in the morning between 3 AM and 5 AM and typically work around 50 hours per week.

The role brings with it a suite of benefits, including immediate access to medical, dental, and vision insurance for less than $100 per week for family coverage. US Foods also provides a 2% automatic company contribution to the 401(k) plan with matching opportunities up to 6%, fostering employee financial security for the future. One of the key perks of this job is the home-daily status, allowing drivers to return home every night, a significant advantage over long-haul trucking positions.

The job responsibilities include safely driving trucks to meet delivery schedules, carefully unloading products using tools such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, verifying the accuracy of deliveries with customer signatures, and handling collections and payments when necessary. A commitment to professional customer service is paramount as drivers represent the public face of US Foods to their customers. Thorough pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections are also critical to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.

Candidates must meet specific criteria, including registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse to comply with Department of Transportation regulations, possession of a valid CDL Class A license with the necessary endorsements, and a minimum of six months of commercial driving experience, or three months if it is within the food or beverage delivery industry. The ability to communicate proficiently in English, operate manual transmissions where required, and withstand the physical demands of lifting heavy products and working in various weather conditions is essential.

US Foods prides itself on an inclusive work culture underpinned by core values that emphasize integrity, collaboration, and exemplary service. The company believes strongly in rewarding its associates for their dedication and contribution through comprehensive Total Rewards packages, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more. Joining US Foods means becoming part of a community that supports your professional growth while shaping the foodservice landscape across the nation.
