Job Description
Performance Foodservice, a leading broadline food distributor under Performance Food Group (PFG), plays an essential role in America's food distribution network. With a diverse portfolio of customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries, the company cultivates strong partnerships that thrive on delivering high-quality food products alongside expert advice on menu development, operational improvement, and product selection. Not merely a supplier, Performance Foodservice actively supports the success and growth of independent restaurant owners and local businesses through a combination of reliable logistics and dedicated customer service. The organization is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful work environment and offers equal employment opportunities without discrimination, adhering strictly to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. They take pride in their supportive corporate culture, which values recognition, rewards, and substantial growth opportunities for their employees.
This tremendous position as a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver is integral to continuing the company’s promise of excellence in food distribution. The role demands meticulous attention to safety, efficiency, and customer engagement. This position involves driving tractor trailers or straight trucks across intrastate and interstate routes to deliver various food and related products. With a typical workweek of 4 to 5 days and the potential for additional days, the role offers flexibility along with an attractive compensation package including an annual salary range between $75,000 and $100,000 plus uncapped pay potential, quarterly safety bonuses, and unlimited referral bonuses up to $2,500 per referral. The company also provides a $5,000 sign-on bonus, new equipment, and approximately $145 per diem and overnight compensation for nights spent away from home.
As the company’s representative on the road, the delivery driver builds lasting relationships with customers while ensuring all products arrive punctually and in excellent condition. Responsibilities go beyond driving and delivering; they include performing mandatory safety inspections, managing accurate paperwork, loading and unloading freight, handling damaged goods correctly, and complying fully with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The delivery driver also plays a critical role in maintaining operational integrity by performing general housekeeping duties in the vehicle and around the loading dock and securing equipment at shift end. This role is ideal for a safety-conscious, responsible professional who thrives in an environment that values teamwork and customer service excellence, with a keen focus on safety and compliance.
