At US FOODS, employees are valued and their hard work is recognized through competitive compensation and benefits. The company fosters a welcoming environment where each team member's contribution matters, emphasizing a culture built on integrity, reliability, and collaborative spirit.
This role is for a US FOODS Delivery Driver, a critical position within the organization that serves as one of the key faces customers interact with. Delivery Drivers at US FOODS are responsible for transporting a wide range of food products including meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies to various customer drop-off sites. This position ensures timely delivery, handles product unloading, and provides best-in-class customer service that reflects the company’s core values. The role requires physical stamina to perform manual heavy lifting of items up to 80 pounds and resilience to work in inclement weather conditions. Drivers must verify deliveries with customers and may collect payments where applicable.
US FOODS offers its Delivery Drivers a starting pay of $25.00 per hour during the training period, which then transitions to a component pay structure after training is completed. There is also a $2,500 retention bonus available. The work schedule runs from Monday through Saturday, with Saturdays being mandatory and two weekdays off. Start times vary between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM depending on route assignments. Drivers work local routes and have the benefit of being home every night. Additionally, US FOODS guarantees a minimum of 40 hours per week, with paid training and paid overtime. The company also ensures employees are recognized through service awards and rewards, supported by excellent leadership.
Benefits begin on the first day of employment and include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), life insurance, and paid parental leave. US FOODS supports its workforce with a respectful compensation strategy and benefits package that reflects their commitment to the well-being and dedication of their employees.
This role demands professionalism, dependability, and a customer-focused mindset. Candidates must have a valid CDL A license, be at least 21 years old, and have the necessary DOT qualifications. Prior truck driving experience is required, with a minimum of six months of commercial truck driving or three months of foodservice delivery experience. The role also requires registration in the FMCSA Clearinghouse to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. Drivers play an integral role in maintaining US FOODS’ reputation by embodying the company's cultural beliefs, demonstrating strong work ethics, and providing exceptional service to customers. Joining US FOODS as a Delivery Driver means becoming part of a team that values your contributions and invests in your professional growth.
