Job Description

US Foods is one of the largest food distribution companies in the United States, known for its rich culture and dedication to promoting from within. With a strong emphasis on continuous career growth, US Foods offers extensive job skills and leadership development training, making it an excellent place for individuals seeking long-term career opportunities in the foodservice industry. As part of the US Foods family, employees enjoy a supportive environment where their hard work and dedication are recognized and rewarded. The company operates with a commitment to respect, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package that starts from the very first day of employment. This ensures that all employees, including drivers, receive the support they need both professionally and personally. US Foods prides itself on creating a work culture centered on integrity, collaboration, and exceptional service, which aligns closely with the highly valued pillars of the organization.

The Delivery Driver role at US Foods is vital to the company’s ongoing success and reputation. As a Delivery Driver, you will be the face of the company, building trustworthy relationships with customers while efficiently transporting various products such as meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies to designated drop-off points. This position is designed for individuals who enjoy active roles that combine physical exertion with customer service. Starting pay is $25.65 per hour during a 90-day paid training program, after which drivers transition to a component pay plan that rewards their independent performance and contribution. Drivers work Monday through Friday, starting early in the morning (around 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM) and finish the day once all deliveries are completed. The schedule allows drivers to return home every night, making work-life balance more achievable.

US Foods drivers benefit from local routes that keep them close to home, guaranteed minimum 40 hours of work weekly, paid training, and paid overtime. The company also recognizes service and dedication through employee rewards and provides excellent leadership to support career growth within the organization. Benefits begin day one and include medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), life insurance, and paid parental leave. A unique aspect of this role is the requirement to register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a secure database monitoring commercial driver's license (CDL) holders for compliance with drug and alcohol policies, ensuring safety standards are met.

Ideal candidates for the US Foods Delivery Driver position are at least 21 years old and possess a valid CDL A license with necessary endorsements. They bring a minimum of six months of commercial truck driving experience or three months of experience delivering foodservice or food and beverage products. Drivers should be physically capable of performing repeated heavy lifting of up to 80 pounds and prepared to work in various weather conditions, making frequent stops during their routes. Communication skills and a customer-service mindset are essential, as drivers will verify deliveries and collect payments when necessary.

Joining US Foods as a Delivery Driver means becoming part of a team that values integrity, reliability, and a strong work ethic. The company’s total rewards program is designed to respect and reward employees at every level, underscoring US Foods’ commitment to helping both its customers and employees succeed now and in the future. If you are looking for a role that combines physical activity, customer interaction, and career development opportunities, this position offers a compelling and rewarding career path within a well-established and respected organization.
