Performance Foodservice prides itself on supporting independent restaurant owners and businesses by providing exceptional service and helping them achieve their operational goals. With a robust team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts, PFG goes beyond traditional food distribution to ensure customer success and satisfaction.
Performance Food Group offers a comprehensive employment package, including competitive pay ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 per year, a $7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, and a variety of health and wellness benefits starting from day one of employment. Their work schedule features an early morning dispatch shift from 3 am to 6 am with Monday to Friday day shifts, creating a predictable and balanced work environment for drivers.
The role offered is for a CDL-A Driver responsible for supporting America’s food distribution system through safe and timely delivery of products. This vital position requires driving tractor trailers or straight trucks both intrastate and interstate. Drivers work various routes including local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight drive and drop schedules. Ensuring that food and related products reach customers in excellent condition, while complying with Department of Transportation regulations, is at the heart of this role.
The CDL-A Driver serves not just as a delivery professional but as a representative of the company, building lasting relationships with customers by demonstrating professionalism and reliability. The position entails pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, adherence to DOT safety regulations, accurate record keeping, and customer interaction during deliveries. Drivers must verify loads, handle shipping paperwork, secure freight properly, collect payments as needed, and maintain general cleanliness and security of their vehicles and equipment.
This is a role that prioritizes safety, teamwork, and customer service. Drivers are expected to work collaboratively with their peers and supervisors to achieve departmental and company goals while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence. Additionally, the company fosters a safe and inclusive work environment with a culture of recognition and respect, valuing employee contributions and encouraging professional growth opportunities in the critical field of food distribution.
