Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- must be at least 18 years of age
- minimum of one year of food preparation or related experience preferred
- prior supervisory experience preferred
- must meet and maintain correctional facility security clearance requirements
- ability to obtain and maintain food safety certification
- strong organizational and time-management skills
- ability to work independently and responsibly
- physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
- willingness to use personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniforms as required
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- minimum of one year of food preparation or related experience preferred
- prior supervisory experience preferred
- experience working in a correctional or secure environment is a plus
- ability to supervise, motivate, and guide inmates and team members to meet food quality and quantity standards
- ability to obtain and maintain food safety certification
- strong organizational and time-management skills
- ability to work independently with limited supervision
- demonstrated judgment and professionalism in a correctional setting
- must meet and maintain correctional facility security clearance requirements
Job Duties
- Supervise and coordinate catering and food service activities to meet production schedules and quality expectations
- ensure food preparation and service comply with Aramark standards, recipes, and portion control guidelines
- review and approve production records and temperature logs
- participate in food preparation, catering setup, and meal service as needed
- print, distribute, and enforce recipes while accommodating special dietary requirements
- ensure all food items are stored safely and securely in a hazard-free environment
- follow security policies and ensure storage areas remain locked at all times
- verify that kitchen tools, equipment, and keys are properly returned to designated secure locations
- develop and manage work schedules and sanitation plans for catering staff, inmates, and food service employees
- train, supervise, and evaluate team members to promote teamwork, productivity, and professional growth
- assist with inventory control, including receiving, storing, and tracking food and catering supplies
- requisition products as needed and maintain accurate inventory records
- maintain equipment logs and support preventative maintenance of kitchen and catering equipment
- follow HACCP policies and procedures to ensure safe food handling and storage
- ensure completion of all food safety and temperature logs and implement corrective actions when necessary
- participate in food preparation and service following the 5 P's: Participation, Pulls, Production, Portion Control, and Post-Production
