Morrison employs more than 1,600 registered dietitians and 1,200 executive chefs, serving over 600 million meals annually.
The role of Catering Sous Chef at Morrison Healthcare offers an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional passionate about creating outstanding catering experiences within an acute care hospital setting. As a Catering Sous Chef, you will play an integral part in the culinary and catering departments' smooth operation, partnering closely with the Executive Chef to plan, prepare, and execute diverse catering events ranging from intimate meetings to large-scale functions. This role requires a detail-oriented and creative individual who thrives on delivering high standards of food quality, presentation, and client satisfaction.
Your responsibilities will span overseeing all catering production stages—from initial menu development through food preparation, event setup, service, and post-event breakdown. You will supervise and direct the efforts of hourly culinary associates, assist with ordering and inventory management, control food costs, and support daily culinary operations. The position requires a combination of culinary proficiency and strong organizational skills, ensuring all catering functions run seamlessly and exceed client expectations. You will also collaborate with marketing and culinary teams to develop innovative catering programs that reflect the latest food trends and dietary needs.
This position is particularly suited for an energetic, entrepreneurial chef who relishes the challenge of delivering memorable dining experiences through exceptional catering. The salary range for the Catering Sous Chef role is $60,000 to $65,000, reflecting the expertise and level of responsibility required. Morrison Healthcare also promotes professional growth and offers a supportive work environment where team members contribute meaningfully to the company’s mission to improve healthcare through food.
By joining Morrison Healthcare, you will be part of a respected healthcare foodservice leader that values culinary innovation, nutritional excellence, and personalized client service. The role not only demands a strong culinary background but also excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage catering teams and satisfy clients. Additionally, the company encourages participation in client satisfaction initiatives to continuously enhance service quality.
