The Catering Service Worker Lead position at Aramark plays a pivotal role in overseeing catering operations across central and satellite locations, ensuring all events meet company brand standards and client expectations. This role involves direct supervision of catering teams, coordinating event logistics including staff allocation, equipment rental, food preparation, service, and event breakdown. The Catering Service Worker Lead is responsible for fostering a culture of safety in the workplace, ensuring that every aspect of catering operations adheres to strict sanitation, organization, and safety protocols. This leadership position also entails booking events, selecting menus, pricing, and helping with staff hiring, discipline, and performance reviews. Collaboration with other internal departments and external vendors is a key element of the role, as is facilitating strong customer relations by representing Aramark and clients at various events and meetings.

This position requires involvement in training programs and the implementation of Aramark’s operational excellence catering initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of operational experience in hotel or banquet settings, with proven supervisory skills and a customer-focused approach. Physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing are part of the daily routine. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to uniform policies are expected. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years operational experience in a hotel/banquet setting
  • Prior experience with booking of events preferred
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and/or walk and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Effective communication and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Develops and is accountable for a safety culture that creates a work environment where no one gets hurt
  • Directly supervises catering operations including coordination of staff and rental equipment, set-up, preparation, service, and break down of catered foods, beverages, and events of varying size and complexity
  • Booking of events, selecting and costing menu items, and pricing as needed
  • Assists with hiring, discipline, and performance reviews
  • Coordinates activities with other internal departments
  • Participates in management team meetings
  • Interfaces with vendors and key service users within client organization
  • Facilitates external customer relations
  • represents Aramark and the client at any and all meetings and events
  • Ensures that appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met through the use of checklists, hands-on supervision, and follow-up
  • Participates in all catering training programs
  • helps to develop and implement training programs for hourly, part-time, and student employees
  • Aids in implementation and adherence to all Aramark OpX Catering initiatives and guidelines
