The role of Catering Sales Manager at the Seattle Convention Center is a vital part of this mission. This position works directly with the Sales Director to develop, maintain, and expand catering accounts to meet or surpass budgeted revenue targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing convention, corporate, and social catering accounts, ensuring flawless delivery of services that contribute to the overall success of the events held at the center. This is a salaried position with eligibility for a local bonus contingent upon meeting specific performance metrics. The annual salary range is estimated between $81,000 and $84,000.

In this role, the Catering Sales Manager will actively generate new catering business by sourcing leads, following up on opportunities, and collaborating with event planners to manage the full lifecycle of the event experience. The manager will handle responsibilities such as developing proposals and contracts, responding promptly to customer inquiries, and identifying upselling opportunities to maximize revenue while enhancing client satisfaction. With opportunities to support large recurring events and one-time functions, the position demands excellent organizational, sales, and customer service skills.

Candidates need to be comfortable working independently across two large facilities, the Arch and Summit Buildings, managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong digital literacy in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software is essential. Additionally, the role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate event schedules. Certification requirements include Washington State Food Handlers, ServSafe Manager, and Alcohol Service Certifications.
