The Seattle Convention Center, operated under Aramark’s management, is a premier event destination comprising the Arch and Summit Buildings. It accommodates a wide range of functions including conventions, corporate meetings, and social events. The Catering Sales Manager role at the Seattle Convention Center is a key position that works closely with the Sales Director to maintain and develop catering accounts, ensuring that revenue goals are met or exceeded. This role is critical in providing a seamless and memorable event experience for clients, overseeing catering sales efforts that cater to both returning large-scale events and unique one-time opportunities.
This position combines relationship management with proactive sales strategies, including generating new leads, following up on opportunities, and collaborating with event planners to manage the full scope of an event’s catering requirements. The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for crafting proposals and contracts, responding promptly to customer inquiries, and identifying opportunities to enhance revenue by offering tailored upsells and enhancements that exceed client expectations. The role requires managing diverse client relationships and navigating the complexities of catering across two expansive facilities.
Offered as a full-time role, the position includes a competitive base salary ranging from $81,000 to $84,000, with eligibility for a local bonus contingent upon meeting specific performance metrics. The position demands availability for event-based hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. Additionally, compliance with and maintenance of certifications such as the Washington State Food Handlers, ServSafe Manager, and Alcohol Service Certifications are essential to the role.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of relevant hospitality experience preferably in catering or banquets
- ability to work independently across two large facilities
- availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to achieve and maintain required food service and alcohol certifications
- strong communication and organizational skills
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and other database software
- demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills
- ability to multitask and manage projects under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related discipline and/or equivalent professional experience
- 1-3 years in hospitality industry with catering or banquets preferred
- experience in major convention, hotel, or large social market
- ability to work independently across two large facilities
- strong presentation skills
- ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients and staff
- knowledge of menu planning and food presentation
- skilled in banquet and event service operations

Job Duties
