Currently, Terry Black's Barbecue is seeking a dynamic Catering Sales Manager to join their team. This is a full-time position focused on driving the growth of the catering division by booking and managing both onsite and offsite events. The ideal candidate will combine sales expertise, exceptional customer service skills, and event management capabilities to represent the brand effectively and deliver unforgettable barbecue events. The role involves cultivating long-term relationships with clients, negotiating contracts, planning customized menus, and ensuring flawless execution alongside the catering and store teams. As the Catering Sales Manager, you will act as the vital link between Terry Black's Barbecue and its diverse clientele. Your responsibilities include identifying and securing new catering clients through innovative sales strategies and active community involvement, booking events at the venue as well as coordinating offsite catering for external locations. You will develop custom proposals and negotiate contracts that balance customer satisfaction with business profitability. Another key facet of this role is overseeing event logistics, including menu customization, inventory management, and hands-on support during events to uphold the company’s high standards.

Leadership is also a critical component of this role; mentoring and guiding the catering team to deliver exceptional service is essential. You will collaborate with internal teams and serve as the main communication point for clients to ensure smooth operations. Staying informed about market trends, analyzing sales performance, and identifying growth opportunities are also important to drive continued success. Flexibility to work 40-50 hours per week, including weekends and holidays as needed, is required to meet client demands and event schedules. Job Qualifications

  • Proven track record in catering sales or high-volume event management, ideally within the barbecue or restaurant industry
  • Expertise in cultivating client relationships and negotiating contracts
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with Triple Seat or other CRM platforms for managing client relationships and event details
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to adapt under pressure

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with clients to craft customized barbecue menus and coordinate event logistics for both onsite and offsite events
  • Partner with store leadership and catering teams to ensure exceptional preparation and service
  • Provide hands-on support during events, ensuring every detail upholds Terry Black’s Barbecue standards
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure all catering equipment is maintained and ready for use
  • Act as the main point of contact between clients and internal teams, ensuring smooth operations
  • Mentor and guide the catering team to deliver outstanding customer experiences consistently
  • Track catering sales performance and provide actionable insights to leadership
  • Stay current with industry trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
