The Catering Manager role at NEXDINE Hospitality in the Greater Burlington Area, MA, is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of $100,000 per year with weekly direct deposit pay frequency. This vital role reports directly to the Chef or General Manager and is responsible for the oversight, delivery, and execution of client catering events. The Catering Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of catering functions by managing staff, coordinating event logistics, and maintaining exemplary customer service standards.

The individual in this role will be responsible for planning, executing, and coordinating various catering events in close collaboration with the Chef or General Manager. They will be expected to meet with prospective clients to understand their event requirements, including menu creation, setup and breakdown needs, and scheduling. Direct supervision of event setup such as seating arrangements, decorations, and food displays is another crucial aspect of the position. In addition to managing the catering staff, the Catering Manager may also handle purchasing supplies, maintaining vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, and controlling operational costs to adhere to budget guidelines.

This position requires a strong culinary foundation as the Catering Manager may assist with menu writing, cost control, and production oversight to uphold food quality standards across all catering events. Financial responsibilities also include managing department expenses, payroll processing, and maintaining accurate financial records, often in collaboration with the Chef or General Manager. Leadership skills are essential, as the Catering Manager will recruit, hire, train, and supervise catering staff, fostering a team-oriented environment while maintaining a client-focused approach.

The role demands excellent communication and project management skills, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure and resolve problems efficiently. The work environment includes kitchen settings with typical cooking equipment and exposure to heat, steam, and noise, as well as office settings with standard office equipment. Physical demands consist of standing for extended periods and performing tasks that require manual dexterity and the ability to lift items up to 40 pounds.

The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's Degree, with 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role. Preferred qualifications include a culinary school certificate or degree and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Certifications required for this role include ServSafe, Choke Safety, Allergen Awareness specific to Massachusetts, and TIPS Alcohol Certification.
