The role of Catering Manager at Creative Dining Services is a full-time position within the Dining Services Department, focused on delivering excellence in catered events. This pivotal role requires managing the entire catering process, from initial customer engagement to the successful execution of events, ensuring that food is not only presented attractively but also prepared and served efficiently in alignment with customer preferences and company standards. The Catering Manager acts as a professional liaison between customers, clients, staff, vendors, and various internal departments, promoting seamless communication and collaborative teamwork.
Key responsibilities include maintaining excellent public relations to drive high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business; building and nurturing relationships to grow catering sales; ensuring adherence to established food presentation and service standards; and coordinating with production, conference services, and sales teams to deliver flawless event execution. The Catering Manager is also responsible for managing billing, record-keeping, and upholding a neat and organized office environment.
Ideal candidates for this position will have a solid background in hospitality management or related fields, with at least three years of supervisory experience, ServSafe Certification, and proficiency in MS Office and event management software. - communicates professionally with clients during events to assure their needs are met
- builds relationships with current clients in order to grow catering sales
- promptly responds to all catering inquiries
- maintains established food presentation and service standards
- providing ongoing enhancement to these based upon current trends in the catering industry
- updates production and catering staff on changes that occur to a catered event
- communicates catering menu offerings in an attractive and effective manner, paying attention to potential special dietary needs of the customer
- works in conjunction with production, conference services, and sales staff to plan and coordinate details of catered events
- prepares all billing of catered events
- maintains an organized system of comprehensive record keeping for each catered event
- maintains a neat and organized office area and performs other office duties as directed by the General Manager
