The role of Catering Manager at Olaya Events & Company is a pivotal leadership position focused on the seamless execution of catering operations. Reporting directly to company leadership, this role requires a hands-on manager who will oversee the preparation and logistics of all catering functions while managing and developing a skilled serving team. The Catering Manager acts as the primary contact for clients, consulting on catering requirements, hosting tastings, and collaborating closely with chefs and catering staff to elevate the guest experience. This position demands a high level of attention to detail to align operational tasks with the company’s overarching goal of knocking clients’ socks off with a stress-free and extraordinary event experience.

The Catering Manager is responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and disciplining team members to ensure top-tier customer service and operational success. They must respond promptly to client inquiries, maintain accurate records in the catering CRM, and prepare detailed proposals, contracts, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) in accordance with company standards. This role also involves quality control of operations to assess areas for continuous improvement that support the company’s values and market dominance ambitions in the wedding and event industry.

Job Duties

  • Managing catering functions and staff to ensure the customer experience is extraordinary
  • Hiring, training, supervising, developing, scheduling and disciplining catering staff
  • Responding to new and current catering inquiries and emails
  • Ensure all clients are entered into catering CRM software when booked
  • Coordinate tastings for clients, including communicating/scheduling clients, creating catering forms/layouts, coordinating with chef and following up with clients to ensure menu is picked and all questions are answered
  • Meet company response standards when communicating with clients (within 24 hours)
  • Provide accurate proposals, contracts and follow-ups in accordance to company standards
  • Create and post BEOs 2 weeks prior to event to the company event database
  • Hands on when needed and quality control operations in order to assess improvements that align with company goals and values
  • Managing successful planning and execution of catering functions, including tastings
  • Adhere to sanitation and safety standards
  • Ensure employees have appropriate equipment, supplies, and resources to perform their job
