Job Description

The hiring establishment is a leading event management and catering company based in San Francisco. This company specializes in orchestrating high-profile events that range from cultural premieres to Fortune 500 galas, stadium activations, and large-scale festivals across the Bay Area. With a strong reputation for excellence and precision, this company plays a pivotal role in delivering unforgettable experiences through culinary excellence, meticulous planning, and flawless execution. As a cornerstone in the local event scene, the organization is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, while managing complex logistics across multiple venues and high-volume environments. As a dynamic and innovative leader, the company embraces a culture of empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement, ensuring both staff and clients thrive in every event they undertake. By leveraging technology, strategic vendor partnerships, and a committed workforce, they consistently set the benchmark for catering services in the region.

We are seeking a highly experienced Catering Kitchen Manager to oversee commissary and off-site kitchen operations for this fast-paced and diverse portfolio of events. This role demands a hands-on leader who excels in managing high-volume food preparation and service in challenging environments such as stadiums, cultural venues, convention centers, and festivals. The Catering Kitchen Manager will be responsible for leading kitchen staff and logistics teams through the full lifecycle of event catering, including prep, transport, setup, service, and takedown, ensuring every detail aligns with strict food safety and labor regulations. The ideal candidate will have over five years of hospitality experience, with a minimum of three years in large-volume kitchen management, and possess a Certified Food Safety Manager credential in California. They must demonstrate expertise in cost control, inventory management, and vendor relations, while maintaining a positive and communicative leadership style that inspires and trains the team effectively. Flexibility to accommodate the often irregular hours dictated by the event schedule—including evenings and weekends—is essential, along with the ability to commute within 50 miles of San Francisco. This salaried position offers competitive compensation ranging from $85,000 to $95,000 annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision coverage, a 401K plan, and paid time off. Working primarily on-site, with minimal remote work, this role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional looking to make a significant impact in the event industry by ensuring each catered event runs smoothly and exceeds expectations.
