The role of Catering Chef at Lessing's Hospitality Group offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a premier catering venue known for its high standards and dedication to client satisfaction. As a Catering Chef, you will work directly with private customers and event planners to curate and prepare customized menus tailored to the specific needs of various events and functions. This role demands a high level of culinary expertise and creativity, ensuring that every dish not only meets but exceeds client expectations.

The Catering Chef is responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering provision which includes managing food preparation, maintaining strict standards of hygiene and safety, controlling food costs through inventory and purchasing management, and minimizing waste. This position also involves assisting in menu development when necessary and ensuring that all food items are prepared and presented attractively and timely. Additionally, the Catering Chef plays a vital role in mentoring junior chefs and kitchen support staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment. This is a full-time position offering competitive hourly pay with a salary range of $62,400 to $80,000 per year for employees in New York. Job Duties

  • Work closely with private customers and event planners to prepare a variety of food for different functions and events as per client requirements
  • Provide the highest possible standard of catering by managing all aspects of catering provision
  • Assist with catering menu development when necessary
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic, and sanitary work environment
  • Manage food inventory and purchasing while controlling food costs
  • Prepare food items in a timely manner
  • Minimize raw material and food wastage
  • Plate and present food attractively
  • Assist in training junior chefs and kitchen support staff
