The company integrates admissions, culinary arts, and retail services with a strong emphasis on innovation and human connection to craft a seamless journey for guests. Known for their commitment to people, operational intelligence, and innovation, SSA Group has pioneered the concept of 452 Hospitality, which forms the core philosophy guiding how they serve their partners and communities. This approach is designed to foster memorable moments that leave a lasting impression on each visitor and client they serve.
SSA Group is currently seeking a Catering Associate to join their dynamic team. This position reports directly to the Catering Supervisor(s) and Catering Operations Manager. The Catering Associate plays a vital role in delivering warm, welcoming, and exceptional service, embodying the values of 452 Hospitality at every event. The role involves managing quality control, inventory oversight, and ensuring guest needs are met promptly and effectively, including resolving any complaints in a professional manner. Catering Associates are entrusted with the proper setup, execution, breakdown, and cleanup of catered events, ensuring all tasks are performed with the highest standard of excellence.
Key responsibilities include supporting both front and back of house operations, executing side work to maintain productivity during banquet events, and demonstrating in-depth knowledge of menus, food presentation, and service techniques. The role requires physical stamina to perform manual labor such as moving equipment, setting up and tearing down event spaces, and handling rental orders efficiently. The successful candidate must maintain a positive, approachable attitude when interacting with clients, guests, and coworkers while communicating effectively with leadership to guarantee overall event success.
Additional expectations include maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment, upholding professional appearance and conduct, and participating in ongoing company initiatives such as IDEA + Belonging. This program promotes inclusivity, supports professional growth, and encourages environmental sustainability and community engagement. Catering Associates play a part in driving these commitments forward by adhering to company policies and serving as role models within their teams.
The SSA Group offers competitive compensation with eligibility for overtime pay and participation in an On-Demand Pay Program, allowing employees access to earned wages before payday. Benefits include a meal plan, employee discounts at designated locations, and a 401(k) program with a 15% company match for eligible employees. The company also offers tuition discounts through Partnership College, bereavement leave, holiday pay with premium rates for Christmas and Thanksgiving, and paid sick leave compliant with state and local laws.
Locations served by SSA Group include Arizona, California, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, D.C., and Colorado, with specific paid leave accrual rules in states like Colorado, Maryland, and Washington. SSA Group, along with its affiliates, is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. The organization embraces diversity as a way to enhance the quality of their work and impact.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and interested candidates can apply at thessagroup.com. Joining SSA Group as a Catering Associate means becoming part of a dedicated hospitality team that values excellence, innovation, and community engagement in every aspect of their work.
