Our company brings together expertise in admissions, culinary services, and retail operations to create innovative and seamless guest journeys that allow our partners to focus on their core missions. This integrated approach, which we call 452 Hospitality, emphasizes people, innovation, and operational intelligence, underpinning the long-term value we deliver to the cultural institutions and communities we serve.
As an established leader in the hospitality industry, SSA Group is dedicated to not only meeting but exceeding expectations with every event, and we are currently seeking an Assistant Catering Operations Manager to join our Catering & Events Department. This on-site, full-time position reports to multiple leadership roles, including the General Manager, Food Operations Manager, Executive Chef, and Assistant Operations Manager. The Assistant Catering Operations Manager will be key in supporting sales and culinary teams to coordinate and execute catering events totaling over $300,000 in revenue oversight, ensuring flawless event delivery and customer satisfaction.
The Assistant Catering Operations Manager plays a critical role in the planning, coordination, and quality control of catering events. This individual must manage the logistics from initial event orders and staffing to final execution and breakdown, while maintaining strong communication across sales, culinary, and operational teams. They also nurture client relationships, serve as the day-of contact to handle any issues, and work closely with vendors and suppliers to secure timely delivery of goods and services.
This position requires someone with leadership capabilities who values team building and development and can efficiently solve problems while managing budgets and operational costs. Comfort with fast-paced, dynamic environments is essential, along with proficiency in basic computer functions. Physical stamina is also necessary, with the ability to stand for long periods and handle lifting tasks safely. Experience with event management software, particularly Tripleseat, is a plus, and a minimum of two years in off-site catering or event planning is required to succeed.
Key responsibilities include detailed event planning with attention to execution timelines and staffing, managing inventory and catering equipment maintenance, reporting and budgeting to meet financial goals, and maintaining compliance with all local and federal laws. The role also emphasizes social responsibility through sustainability efforts and community engagement. Additionally, this position involves hiring and developing team members, scheduling, approving timesheets, and fostering an inclusive, empowering environment.
SSA Group offers a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance options, and participation in a 401(k) plan with a company match. We support work-life balance through paid parental leave, bereavement leave, and a flexible on-demand pay program. Our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity makes SSA an employer of choice for professionals passionate about hospitality and event management.
