Job Description
The Kalispel Tribe of Indians, a respected and community-focused tribal organization, operates Northern Quest Casino, a premier entertainment and gaming destination. Situated in Washington state, Northern Quest Casino offers a vibrant and dynamic environment where guests can enjoy gaming, dining, and live entertainment experiences. The casino is known for its commitment to cultural values, responsible gaming, and exceptional guest service. As part of the Kalispel Tribe of Indians, the organization fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace that honors tribal affiliations while promoting professional growth and team collaboration.
This job opportunity is for the role of a Food and Beverage Server who will play an integral part in delivering an exceptional guest experience on the casino floor and within the restaurant areas. The server will be responsible for taking food and beverage orders, serving drinks and menu items, and maintaining a welcoming, clean environment that aligns with company policies and gaming regulations. The role requires a strong knowledge of menus, daily promotions, and responsible alcohol service practices, including compliance with health and safety standards. This position offers hands-on interaction with guests, requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to handle transactions accurately using the POS system.
In this position, the server will greet guests warmly, provide menu recommendations influenced by beverage pairings, and ensure timely delivery of orders to promote an enjoyable dining experience. They will also manage payments, maintain organized server stations, and contribute to team operations by supporting colleagues and completing necessary side work. The server must be well-versed in company policies and regulations issued by the Kalispel Tribe of Indians and Northern Quest. Employment is contingent on the ability to obtain a Tribal Gaming License and successful completion of mandatory training such as Alcohol Server Training (MAST) and Payment Card Industry Training.
The work environment is typical of a casino, involving exposure to tobacco smoke, flashing lights, and loud noises, along with physical tasks that require lifting up to 65 pounds and frequent movement. The role demands flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required. The Kalispel Tribe of Indians emphasizes equal employment opportunity and gives preference in hiring to qualified tribal members and eligible Native applicants, promoting cultural integrity and community support.
Overall, the Food and Beverage Server at Northern Quest Casino offers a rewarding career path for individuals who excel in customer service, thrive in a fast-paced and engaging environment, and value the importance of teamwork and compliance within a unique casino setting. This position requires a commitment to upholding the tribe’s values, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence.
