Job Description
US Foods is a leading foodservice distributor in the United States, dedicated to providing exceptional food products and services to a diverse range of customers including restaurants, healthcare, hospitality, and educational institutions. With a commitment to delivering quality and convenience, US Foods operates as a trusted partner to thousands of food service operators, offering an extensive portfolio of products designed to meet the needs of their customers efficiently and effectively. The company upholds core cultural beliefs such as Deliver Excellence, Stop Waste, WIN Together, Speak Up, and You Matter, which create a dynamic and supportive work environment focused on teamwork, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
The CHEF'STORE Sales Associate at US Foods plays a vital role in maintaining an outstanding customer service atmosphere that aligns with the company’s strategy: Great Food, Made Easy. This position is primarily responsible for executing multiple duties across various departments including acting as a cashier, stocker, and customer courtesy representative. The role requires a high level of passion for delivering service excellence, and the ability to adapt to different functions depending on the daily business needs and management direction. This position offers a starting pay of $19.66 per hour with potential earnings between $17 and $27 based on experience, skills, and location.
Key responsibilities include working the front end by processing sales transactions efficiently, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring product accuracy via scanning or weighing items. On the sales floor, associates ensure shelves are stocked and neatly arranged, products are properly rotated, and inventory levels are maintained. The role also involves actively engaging with customers to promote the store’s products and services, supporting store events, and participating in inventory and cycle counts.
Working at US Foods as a CHEF'STORE Sales Associate means operating in a retail store environment open to the public with exposure to various temperature conditions and some physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, and stocking merchandise. The role requires a team-oriented attitude and a dedication to safety and cleanliness both inside and outside the store. Essential employment qualities include flexibility in scheduling, especially to cover shifts that may start late in the evening and work over holidays and weekends.
The company encourages employees to utilize a variety of tools including handheld scanners and computer software to ensure efficient store operations and promote the highest standards of customer service. US Foods also emphasizes employee growth and rewards teamwork and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Associates are part of a company culture that respects and values each individual's contribution, fostering inclusive workspaces reflective of the diverse community served.
Overall, this Sales Associate position at US Foods offers an enriching career opportunity for individuals interested in retail foodservice sales and customer engagement. It combines hands-on retail duties with the chance to be part of a nationally recognized leader in the food distribution industry. Empathy, attention to detail, and genuine customer interaction are at the forefront of this role, making it an ideal choice for candidates passionate about the foodservice sector and who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced retail environment.
