The role being offered is a Store Team Member position at the Tampa-Clearwater, FL location. This is a dynamic, customer-focused role that involves delivering friendly and efficient customer service to ensure every shopper has a positive experience. The position includes assisting customers in locating products and providing solutions to their creative needs. Team Members are responsible for maintaining a well-merchandised and in-stock store by participating in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes along with merchandise recovery and maintenance duties. The role requires executing cash handling procedures at a fast and friendly checkout, supporting omni-channel retail processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS), and educating customers on Michaels’ Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.

This position emphasizes teamwork, respect, and positivity in all interactions, encouraging individuals to be role models who project the company’s vision and values. Safety and shrink programs are a key focus, alongside adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and compliance with all applicable laws and company policies. Candidates can expect to engage in cross-training opportunities, including custom framing selling and production. The physical demands of this role include standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, bending, stretching, and working in a retail environment with some exposure to outdoor tasks during cart retrieval or truck unloading.

Job Duties

  • Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions
  • provide a fast and friendly checkout experience
  • execute cash handling to standards
  • engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments
  • educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey
  • assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
  • participate in the truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes
  • complete merchandise recovery and maintenance including merchandise return/go back process and general store recovery
  • perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned
  • support shrink and safety programs
  • adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company compliance programs
  • interact with others respectfully and positively
  • cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production
  • other duties as assigned
