Job Description

Proof of the Pudding has established itself as a premier catering company for over 40 years, setting a high standard for culinary excellence and unforgettable event experiences. Based in Atlanta, the company has built a reputation for innovation, superior service, and exceptional hospitality. Its portfolio spans a wide variety of events, including weddings, holiday parties, corporate retreats, and social gatherings, each delivered with creative menus and seamless service. As Proof of the Pudding expands into the greater Dallas area, it is bringing its passion for hospitality, elevated design expertise, and commitment to quality to new audiences at local venues such as the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.

The role of Cashier/Barista is a vital part of the Food and Beverage team at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. This position is designed for individuals who are enthusiastic, customer-oriented, and eager to provide excellent service in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The Cashier/Barista will greet guests, take orders accurately, and handle payments efficiently, contributing directly to a positive dining experience for visitors. Beyond cashier duties, this role requires preparing gourmet customized coffee beverages using espresso machines, ensuring consistency and quality in every cup.

In addition to customer interaction, the role involves transporting food from the kitchen to various concession stands and other areas around the venue, strictly following food safety protocols. The Cashier/Barista must be capable of performing multiple functions, including food plating, restocking, cleaning, inventory counting, and operating concession stand equipment. This makes the role multifaceted and critical in maintaining smooth operations during events.

The position offers competitive pay based on experience, daily meals during shifts, flexible schedules, and the opportunity to work in a unique, beautiful venue—all important incentives for those passionate about hospitality and food service. Training is provided both formally and on-the-job, allowing team members to develop skills that are highly transferable within the food service industry. There is also a clear path for advancement for dedicated individuals. The work environment at the Dallas Arboretum requires physical stamina as the role involves prolonged standing, moving within limited spaces, lifting up to 30 pounds, and exposure to varying temperatures due to frequent use of coolers and freezers.

Proof of the Pudding values a team-oriented approach, encouraging a positive attitude, punctuality, and reliability. Employees must adhere to company uniform policies, including wearing non-slip shoes for safety. With a strong emphasis on ethical behavior, teamwork, and communication, Proof of the Pudding fosters an inclusive and respectful workplace culture. These core values ensure that employees not only perform their duties effectively but also align with the company’s dedication to quality and customer satisfaction.

Overall, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing setting and is eager to contribute to exceptional event experiences at one of Dallas’s most scenic venues. Proof of the Pudding offers a rewarding work environment where team members can grow their careers in food and beverage service while being part of a storied catering brand expanding into a new market.
